CRJ 900 der Lufthansa CityLine

A new air route between Frankfurt and Rennes

From May 2022, Lufthansa is opening an air connection between Frankfurt and the Breton capital.

Rennes is more accessible than ever! Thanks to this new air link from the Lufthansa Group, Frankfurt is only an hour and a quarter away from Rennes. 3 return flights are scheduled every week from the 03 May 2022.

Brittany has never been better connected to Europe, thanks to this new line between Frankfurt and Rennes. The launch, initially planned for March 2020, was postponed due to the pandemic. Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub and the Rennes-Saint-Jacques airport will now be connected by three weekly flights from the 03 May 2022. These flights will be available for €195 return, and will use a 90-seater Bombardier CRJ900 aeroplane operated by Lufthansa CityLine. This link will be perfect for both business travellers and tourists from both cities.

A new air route “between two of Europe’s leading cities”

A new line “between two of Europe’s leading cities”, giving “French passengers enhanced access to the global Lufthansa network, via one of their major European hubs” says Michael Gloor, Senior Director for Sales in France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. After opening lines between Nantes and Munich, Bordeaux and Frankfurt, Marseille and Zurich, and Strasbourg and Munich, the Lufthansa Group is continuing to connect major regional cities to its international network. “We are convinced that France’s regions offer great potential and dynamism, so this is where we’re focusing two thirds of our offer. In terms of our French development strategy, Rennes is a key city – it is the capital of Brittany and a springboard for the entire North-West region”, adds Michael Gloor.

The link to Germany is good news for the Rennes Bretagne Airport, and a first for the Western France region.
